My birthday is actually in February and one of my best friend's finally got round to giving me my present about 3 weeks ago....better late than never I always say! I was thrilled to get my present from her as I look forward to gifts from her every year; whether that being at Christmas or my Birthday! The reason? Because she gives such amazing presents! She seems to know me so well, even though I've only known her about 3 years, and she is so generous too. So you can imagine my excitement when she walked into the pub (yes we met for a pub lunch!) and handed over a bag full of presents saying it was all for me!
She (Grace) bought me 3 books and she made me open those first! The first one is called Dream Makers by Nora Roberts and if you didn't know already, I absolutely love Nora Roberts books! I have a small collection of her books and just love adding to it! I havent actually read it yet but I'm sure it will be as well written and enjoyable as all her other books I have had the pleasure to read. The second one is called Crazy As Chocolate by Elisabeth Hyde. I haven't read any of her books but Grace assured me she is a phenomenal author and the tittle itself struck a chord with me as I LOVE chocolate! The third and final book is the one I've actually started to read reccently and it is called The Chocolate Run by Dorothy Koomson. Yes, more chocolate I hear you say! I've only read the first few chapters so I can't really give a review on it but I will do at a later date once I have finished it. The few chapters I have read have been funny and brilliantly written so I am hopeful! It is written by the author that wrote My Best Friend's Girl (which isn't as bad as it sounds!!) and I absolutely loved that book. It's beautifully written, funny and true to real life, but it's also very sad and would probably make you cry! I know I did!
The final part to my present I was most excited about as my friend had given me an inkling as to what it was. It was a brand new Ecotools brush set! The set consists of one face brush, one concealer brush, one eyeshadow brush, an angled liner brush, one comb brush and a small round mirror in a brush roll to keep it tidy. I'd been after a new set of brushes for ages as I always seem to buy one at a time and never stick to one brand. I also seem to buy more low end brushes (e.g- from boots!) and I was desperate to get my mitts on a decent set!
After the initial screams of thanks and "ohmygod!" I managed to contain myself long enough to take a good look at my new brushes. The first thing I noticed was how soft they all were. I know that sounds silly but that matters to me as I have quite sensitive, irritable skin, especially around my eyes, so need my brushes to be soft and gentle. Obviously I was unable to start using them straight away as we were out in public about to have lunch! But when I got home, I couldn't wait to try them out. The brush I use the most now is the face brush and I use it for mainly bronzer but sometimes blush. What can I say about them? They don't shed any hairs at all which is amazing, they are soft and gentle to your skin and they are.... brilliant?! I do sometimes use the concealer brush as an eyeshadow brush and it seems to work really well! All in all I love these brushes and will deffinitely invest in some more in the future :)
Keep an eye on my Blog as I'm planning on writing more posts within the next few weeks!
